Subscription Types and Price Options have four possible published states:

Published : visible on your Public Subscriptions Page for new members to purchase, or existing members to renew
Renewals Only : not visible on your Public Subscriptions Page for new members to purchase, but existing members can renew
Admin Only : members cannot purchase or renew the subscription.
Unpublished : cannot be purchased or renewed
